Video Instructions for Adding an Announcment

To add a Document do the following:

Click on "Add new document" to upload picture(s) for the announcement

Ensure document has a unique name
Once added, click on the document name to get the URL link..copy this link
When adding an announcement (see below), paste this link into the Address field of the picture you want to include

To add announcements do the following:

Click on "Add a New Announcement"

NewsDate - The date the announcement happened
Activity - Enter the Activity so it can be added to the Extra-Curricular page
Title - The title of the announcement
Body - The body (text) of the announcement. This is a rich text editor. Here you can add images/URL links, etc.

Default Font = Tahoma

Expires - leave as is

Once an announcement is made, it will appear on the "Home" page, the "News/Newsletters" page and the "Extra Curricular Activity" page

West Wear is open for business!

The school store offers a variety of items, such as:

Christmas Tree Ornaments
Water Bottles
Clothing
Hats

Prices start as low as $2.

The store is open today at lunch. It will also be open, Friday, December 9, Monday, December 12 and Tuesday, December 13. All clothing orders must be received by Tuesday, December 13 to be here in time for Christmas!

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Thursday October 13 from 2 - 4 pm and 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Most teachers will be available in the gymnasium with others in their classrooms.

Lifetouch Picture Retake Day

Lifetouch will be back at West Ferris on Monday October 24 from 9 am until 11 am for picture retakes.

If you missed getting your photograph taken, please make sure you do so on this day as you will need it for your Student Card.

Important Information for Parents of Grade 9 and 10 Students

Parents/Guardians, please be advised that your child's:

Ontario Education Number (OEN),
Birth Date,
Grade, and
Math course number

will be provided to the Independent Learning Centre (ILC) in order that they may be registered in the Homework Help Program.

If for any reason, you do not wish your child's private information to be shared with the ILC, please inform Rod Sinclair at 705-472-7015 ext. 5051 or sinclairr@nearnorthschools.ca by Spetember 23, 2011.
