2010-2011
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Another school year – I still can’t believe that my first year as principal at Ferris Glen Public School is over and we are heading into another school year. I am looking forward to this year – both the student population and the teaching staff are fabulous.
The staff and I welcome you to the start of the 2010/2011 school year. Ferris Glen Public School is a dynamic school that considers itself a community partner where staff, parents, neighbours, and community agencies work together to provide the total welfare of our children. Because education is a partnership, children learn best when parents support the work of the school. Support can come in such ways: attending school functions or volunteering in the school; participating in parent/teacher interviews; talking to your children about their day at school and monitoring homework; and ensuring that your children arrive nourished, rested and ready to learn. We hope that you will become full partners with us in providing an outstanding education for our students.
A newsletter will be sent home each month. The newsletter will serve as an excellent source of information as you discover what is happening at the school and tips to make your child’s journey at school a more successful one.
Our custodians have worked very hard this past summer at getting the school ready for students. The school looks fabulous! A big thank-you goes out to our custodians Laurie Lamb, Wayne Desbiens and their team.
Whether you are new to the school or an “old hand”, welcome! All of us together will do our very best to ensure your child’s year at Ferris Glen Public School is a rewarding journey filled with growth, learning, achievement, wonder, discovery and friendship.
Sincerely,
David Radcliffe
Principal
