Saturday, May 26th @ 8:30 am

We need volunteers to set up Friday and others to be there the day of the sale on Saturday.  Please contact Marlee Franz (email Madame Parker and I will put you in touch with her) if you are able to help out either Friday night (one hour) or Saturday morning (one hour shifts between 8 and 11 am).   We will need someone to take charge in the morning.  Please e-mail me if you are available Saturday morning.

PLANTS:  We need your plants!!!!  This is what makes a good PLANT sale.  One person's "weed" may be someone else's star of the garden!  Tell your friends, neighbours, families:  we need all things green!

ALLIANCE STUDENTS DO US PROUD AT THE NIPISSING UNIVERSITY HERITAGE FAIR

On Friday, May 4, ten Alliance students participated in the regional Heritage Fair at Nipissing University.  These representatives were chosen for their high quality work at the school fair.  Our children did VERY well, receiving the following honours:

--Averi F and Anne Y won the Merit of Recognition for enthusiasm and visual impact for 'Canadian Coins'
--Shoshana T and Kaitlyn P received the Multicultural award for their tie-in of Aboriginals to maple syrup.
--Kyra O earned the award for Outstandiong Student Achievement in the research of Ontario's history for her 'History of the Railroad'.
--Anne and Averi are also to be included in an article in the top magazine in Canada for coin collectors.
--Matt M was interviewed on Cogeco TV by Greg Estabrooks and shown on the weekend news.

***** EXCELLENT WORK ON ALL PROJECTS! *****

We are collecting gently used
Alliance Spirit Wear for “reusing”.

Do you have gently used Alliance spirit wear you would like to donate back to the school? Have you out-grown your Alliance hoodie, tee-shirt, sweatshirt?

We will gladly accept these items for one of our fellow Gators to enjoy!

These items can be can be dropped off anytime at Alliance to Lynda Smits’ attention.

END OF DAY PICK-UP

Our office is a very busy place and our secretaries field a very high volume of calls daily; therefore, we are asking that any changes to the daily routine for departure of your children are given to your child’s teacher in writing. Since loose notes often get lost in the bottom of bags, please write or tape the message in your child’s agenda or communication book.

These requests will be submitted to the office in the morning and will allow us to generate an authorized "Pick up" list for the end of the day.  If you must call the school to advise us of changes in plans, please do so as soon as possible.  Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee that any calls made after 2 p.m. will be received in time to ensure your child is not put on the bus.

Thank you for your kind consideration in ensuring the safety of your child.
